| dc.description.abstract | The aim of the present study is to understand the subsurface geology and hydrocarbon potential of the Badin area using seismic and well data. Seismic interpretation was performed on five seismic lines. Lower Goru Formation along with its Basal and Massive Sand units were the horizons of interest. As the area lies in the extensional regime so normal faults are present in this area making horst and graben structures along with tilted fault block geometries. Reflectors deposition trend is in the northeast and southwest direction providing a good sequence of rocks. Petrophysical analysis was performed on well logs of Nur-01 well. Two hydrocarbon bearing zones were identified in the Lower Goru Formation based on various log trends. Various petrophysical parameters including volume of shale and sand, porosities, and hydrocarbon saturation were computed to observe the properties of the reservoir. The thickness of these zones is 37 m and 46 m and the hydrocarbon saturation of these zones are 46% and 52% respectively. | en_US |
