dc.description.abstract The Chemical Industry has gradually attained central role in modern and transitioning economies of the world. The chemical products are extremely important for national economy, and the strong dependence between chemical industry and other industries is mutually reinforcing. Therefore, the safety and risk assessment of chemical storage and related facilities has immense importance for avoiding the chemical accidents, preventing inadvertent and deliberate misuse of chemicals. While storing large quantities of hazardous substances entails risk for the population, the environment and the surrounding area. Spills and Leakage of hazardous substances into the soil can lead to expensive decontamination processes. These situations could lead to a disaster. This studyconducted deals with evaluation and minimization of risk, associated with chemical storage and provide safe site alternative for solvent storage as current storage will be demolished. In practical terms, a risk assessment is a thorough look at workplace to identify those things, situations and processes that may cause harm particularly to people. After identification, we evaluated how likely and severe the risk isand then decided what measures should be in place to effectively prevent or control the harm from happening. The study is undertaken to minimize risk to reduce the probability of losses in form of lives, environment and reputation of the Packages limited Lahore. The workers in chemical industries generally face problem in inhalation due to improper ventilation and health issues related to fire. In packages MSDS were provided to workers for safe handling of chemicals. Safety measures and emergency contact numbers were displayed. The In this study the site alternative for solvent storage is also provided after undergoing all possible sites. It is done according to petroleum rules 1985. After observing situations in the organization emergency preparedness plans and recommendations were given. en_US
