Abstract:
Purpose: This study has aimed to identify the impact of supply chain information integration,
product complexity and market complexity on cost and operational performance of
manufacturing firms in Pakistan.
Methodology & Design: The study has aimed to collect data from 293 senior managers,
managers, assistant managers, supervisors and entry-level executives of the supply chain
management department. Survey questionnaire has been used to collect data based on 5-point
Likert scale. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis has been used to
examine the data collected. Additionally, structural equation analysis is used to examine the
structural association.
Findings: Supply chain information integration has significantly positive impact on cost
performance while it has significantly positive impact on operational performance as well.
Product complexity has significantly negative relationship with cost performance and operational
performance. Market complexity has negative but insignificant relationship with cost
performance and operational performance.
Conclusion: It has been concluded that the competence of making strategic decisions is
efficiently and effectively ensured for the development of supply chain integration.
