Abstract:
Augmented reality (AR) is a technology through which the view of real-world environment is augmented by computer generated elements/objects. AR is related to a mediated reality, in which a view of reality is modified using a computer system”. Augmented reality generates information in the form of images, text or videos. It is a very emerging field of computer science that is developing day by day in almost every field like sports, games, education, medical and many more. In sports we see graphs and lines drawn in screen through AR technology. In medical we see 3D images of body parts and surgeries practice performed in 3D as represented to students for learning purposes. In gaming it gives a new perspective to play through some AR based gadgets to experience rich graphics. In education field it helps to teach students by images and videos in augmented reality to understand the concepts more. Previously these things were possible with costly gadgets, so it was not a quite efficient way and not everyone had access to these AR based gadgets. As the Augmented Reality is relatively a new technology and there has not been much work done on it especially regarding book reading, our application will give a new dimension for this technology to grow. There are already few books related to medical sciences, cartoons and chemistry that have been integrated with technology through augmented reality. But there has not been any application that caters the history of mankind. Our application is going to attract the young generation to book reading in a new way, and it will make it more convenient for them to learn and understand about what they read in books. Application will be available free of cost and free of demonetization for users to use it without being bothered by ads or anything. The application opens a new dimension to learning about history in a new way. The user will launch the application and the camera will be opened directly. Then user will point camera toward the book and the application will detect the images, when the feature points of image in camera and the target image stored in Database are matched then marker will be detected. After detection, Terrain will be rendered over the image and 3 D models over the terrain, animation will play along with voice narration and this all will be in Augmented View.
