Abstract:
Purpose of the study:
This study aims to determine the ‘Impact of Human Resource Management Practices
Employee Retention at Sui Southern Gas Company, Head Office Karachi . Basically,
Human Resource Management Practices are considered as significant contributor towards
overall improvement in organizational performance. The effectiveness of HRM practices
plays an important role in retaining employees with their job and organization for long term.

Methodology/Sample:
The nature of the study is explanatory which is based on quantitative data. Quantitative data
collected through questionnaire floated among 306 respondents as a sample size, at Sui
Southern Gas Company, Head Office Karachi. To analyze the data collected through the
respondents, statistical tools including Pearson Correlation and Regression analysis
applied.

Findings:
This research study has declared insignificant effect of Training and Development and
Performance on Employee Retention at Sui Southern Gas Company, Head Office Karachi.
However, other HRM practices such as Salary and Benefits and Career Growth have a
significant impact on Employee Retention.
Practical Implications:
The implication of this study is dependent on the finding/results came up after the analysis.
The study is considered quite useful for the management in understanding influence of
existing HRM practices and also to determine weaknesses so that corrective actions could be
taken to overcome these weaknesses and errors. It will also help the organization in finding
ways to retain its employees by ensuring effectiveness of existing HRM practices.
