dc.description.abstract The aim of present study is to understand the subsurface geology and hydrocarbon potential of the Miano area using seismic and well data. Seismic interpretation was performed on five seismic lines. In total, four different horizons i.e. Sui Main Limestone (Eocene), Ranikot Formation (Paleocene), Upper Goru Formation (Cretaceous) and Lower Goru Formation (Cretaceous) were marked by well-to-seismic tie. Normal faults and horst and graben structures are encountered in the area representing the extensional regime setting. Reflectors deposition trend is in the South-East direction providing a good sequence of rocks. Petrophysical analysis was performed on well logs of wells Miano-02 and Miano-09. Two hydrocarbon bearing zones; one in each well, were identified in Lower Goru Formation based on different log trends. Various Petrophysical parameters including volume of shale, average and effective porosities and hydrocarbon saturation were computed to observe the properties of reservoir. The thickness of hydrocarbon bearing zones are 3m (Miano-02) and 7m (Miano-09) with their respective computed volume of shale 7.483% and 7.393%. The calculated effective porosities and hydrocarbon saturation of respective zones is 10.556% (Miano-02), 12.057% (Miano-09) and 37.073%, 51.436% respectively. en_US
