| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of study is to find the hydrocarbon potential of Missa Keswal-03, Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan. Missa Keswal Oil Field is situated at a distance of around 60 kilometers in the south-east of Islamabad. The coordinates of study well are latitude 33° 12′ 0″ N and 73° 22′ 0″ E. In Missa Keswal-03 drilling has been done from Chinji Formation of Miocene age up to Khewra Sandstone of Early Cambrian age. Carbonates of Eocene age are acting as a reservoir. One zone has been marked in Chorgali Formation and one in Sakesar Limestone. The Methodology adopted for petrophysical analysis is interpreting log curve, shale volume calculation, porosity estimation, water saturation and hydrocarbon saturation computation. The Chorgali Formation contains 20% volume of shale, 3.82% average porosity and 64.55% hydrocarbons saturation. The zone of Sakesar Limestone contains 7.82% volume of shale, 2.99% average porosity and 67.43% hydrocarbon saturation. The marked zones have low volume of shale, good effective porosity and fair hydrocarbon Saturation. Petrophysical parameters indicated that both formations have fair hydrocarbon potential. | en_US |
