dc.description.abstract The petrophysical study of Meyal 12 well was conducted in order to identify the reservoir zones and estimate their reservoir properties. Meyal 12 well is located in district Attock, Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan. Main play types in the region are salt cored, asymmetrical anticlinal structures. Wireline log data of this well has been used for the petrophysical study. On the basis of bulk density and porosity log curve character, and gamma ray log curve character, zone of interest has been marked and the reservoir potential of the well was determined. Sakesar Limestone of Eocene age was identified as a reservoir zone, with 12.18 % hydrocarbon saturation using effective sonicporosity, and 5.9 % mean hydrocarbon saturation using effective neutron porosity. Both sonic porosity and neutron porosity were used to calculate saturation and total porosity to make result more reliable. en_US
