dc.description.abstract Purpose: The purpose of this research is to identify the essential supplier selection factors (from purchaser's view) prevailing in Automobile sector of Pakistan and determine the most important among all. Methodology: The study involved use of questionnaires filled by 73 respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistics was used to analyze the data. The data is collected from primary source that is questionnaire. Findings: The findings from this research determines quality as the most essential and significant factor considered by purchasers of automobile companies while selecting a supplier. Many of the new entrants' factors like lead time, professionalism, consistency in services, reliability, process and product development, research and integrity were also found considerable and influential in supplier selection decision. Practical Implications: Better understanding of purchaser's view in supplier selection process will eventually help the vendors to rectify their short comings and make improvements in their offerings. It will also assist procurement managers while evaluating suppliers. en_US
