| dc.description.abstract | Purpose The purpose of this research is to contribute significantly to the empirical investigations related to the impact of green supply chain management practices (GSCM) on performance. This study also aims to theorize and empirically assess a comprehensive GSCM practices and its performance model. Methodology & Design Data were collected from 132 managers of manufacturing industries that evaluated using regression and correlation. Manufacturing managers provide data reflecting the degree to which their organization work with customers and suppliers to improve environmental sustainability of the supply chain. Findings Generally, the adoption of Green Supply Chain Management practices by manufacturing organizations leads to improved environmental performance for the betterment of its customers and for society, which in turn positively influence on operational performance of an organization. Hence, Operational performance enriches organizational performance. Limitations In this study, it was essential to reduce the number of measurement scale item from 57 to 36 to ensure that the degrees of freedom exceed the number of parameters estimated. The study is by necessity exploratory. Recommendations Manufacturing managers had to develop SCM skills and knowledge in their organizations in addition to the skills and knowledge they must require to manage cooperation with customers at the organizational level. | en_US |
