Abstract:
The contemporary business world is rapidly shifting on E-business as nearly all types of businesses are adopting the modern methods for all business processes including EProcurement which is not only playing a key role for meeting a firm’s goals but also it is a system for making online purchases the business world has never experienced before. For potential suppliers, it is providing a broad line of communication and improved methods hence giving more space for ensuring better efficiency of work. Goods and services provided online can now be easily tracked and pursued for data recording and retrieval as well. A powerful and flawless procurement management shall render lower costs of production with better product quality ending up in increased competitive advantage. The study focuses on evaluation of an organization’s operational performance in the context of effects of E-Procurement practices. Utilizing an illustrative survey design and targeting the employees in a total of 56 departments specialized in procurement; the data was collected through questionnaires. Employing the descriptive and inferential analysis on data by utilizing the Statistical Package for Social Science(SPSS) tool, the collected material was analyzed in detail for assessing the E-Procurement models and organization’s operational performance. The data was then displayed in tables and charts accordingly. This research gives a clear picture that the trend for adopting E-Procurement is on the rise as observed during the study that the majority of the procuring departments have adopted it for improving organizational performance. Moreover, the study also points out a strong connection among the various components of E-Procurement such as E-Planning, ESupplier selection, E-Tendering, E-Sourcing and E-Invoicing and organizational performance.
