dc.description.abstract The much-increased reliance on technology is not limited to daily routine but it also has a huge part in professional lives of people. People use social sites to search for potential clients, reach out to customers, finding jobs, collecting data and information for various studies, finding suitable employees, acquiring business opportunities and many other activities. The rise of internet users is not only contributed by teenagers, member of Generation X which include the people of age group between 35-40 years old, are also becoming increasingly active in using social media and social networking sites for various purposes. Social sites also helped industries of all kinds to monitor, study, predict and shape buying behaviour of their customers. Companies run extensive social media advertisement and believed to be benefited in terms of sales increase. Thus, social networks represent a revolutionary trend that is of interest for the companies operating in online as well as physical space .. It has become a very significant part of the employees as well. But there are very limited information available on the usage of social media and its impact on employees productivity in Pakistani context. This research is an attempt to study the said relationship and understand how social media shaping the lives of employees at workplace and how it is affecting the organisation en_US
