dc.description.abstract Agile software development techniques are worldwide accepted, regardless of the definition of agile we all have to agree with the fact that agile is maturing day by day. Suppliers of software systems are moving away from traditional waterfall techniques and other development practices in favor of agile methodologies due to its result-driven approach. In the current environment of software development there are very few companies that are following metrics to ensure their project delivery in time with quality and ease because of that many of the time organization that are not using metrics feel insecurities regarding delivery on time, quality and other technical issues. This research focuses on finding metrics that are using in current agile development environment and traditional software development. Agile is also compatible with few metrics that are used in the traditional software development to measure the performance. Metrics are beneficent to measure the health of the project, product and process in order to let run the organization smoothly. Most of the software system development fails due to project decision and process quality that can be easily measured using correct metrics. In this research we highlight and find out different metrics that will be collected from different sources (i.e. Literature Review, tool based metric) and apply them on the sprint data of existing project sprint by sprint that is developed using agile software development and find out that how picked up metrics helped in project quality, project success and project process en_US
