dc.description.abstract Human emotions depict mental state of feeling that are generated spontaneously rather than by conscious effort. They convey physiological changes in human body parts like change in facial muscles which creates an expression on face, body movement in specific ways. Emotions recognition from images has become a prominent research in computer vision and pattern recognition, it is applied in a wide variety of environments including healthcare, robotics, surveillance systems, mobile applications, educational settings etc. This research propose to develop an emotion recognition system for recognizing emotions of student sitting in an early educational environment. The proposed system flow includes the recognition of students taking class then recognizing the student emotions then performs assessment and if still the results depict negative emotion then its condition is validated by psychologist. We are tracking two types of emotions, positive emotions and negative emotions. Negative emotion includes that the students are not taking interest in particular class which is affecting learning capabilities of students. The system uses facial expression, head position and shoulders position to recognize the emotions. The aim of this is to develop a system that will help in early identification of learning disabilities. It will also be helpful in an e-learning environment en_US
