dc.description.abstract Kohat foredeep basin lies to the south of Himalayan and Karakoram orogeny belt. Our study area is the Shakardara block which is present in the southern part of Kohat sub basin. Objectives of this research work were 2D seismic interpretation of the area delineating the subsurface structure. Velocity analysis was carried out using the velocity panels this helped in calculating the vertical and lateral velocities and the depths. Using these velocities and depths contour maps for velocity and depth were prepared. Domal structure was interpreted formed due to a Fore-thrust on the seismic sections. Petrophysical analysis of Chanda Deep-a! and Chanda-02 wells were carried out for reservoir evaluation. Datta Formation (clastic) and Samanasuk Formation (carbonate) were proposed as reservoir zones. en_US
