dc.description.abstract Miano gas field is located in Middle Indus basin Pakistan, Which is the major hydrocarbon producing fields of the area. Main purpose of the research is reservoir characterization and seismic inversion to find the reservoir potential and to confirm the B sand interval as a proven reservoir in the area. This research utilizes the techniques like Seismic inversion, facie modeling, and seismic attribute and petrophysical analysis. Negative flower structures are present along with horst, normally faulted grabens and tilted fault blocks in north-east and south west orientation. Instantaneous amplitude has proven to be of great importance which is showing the presence of bright spot at the level of lower Goru B interval sand makes it a potential reservoir of the area. Along with this Facie modeling also confirm the lithology that is sand and shale which are being acted as main reservoir in B sand interval. Petrophysical analysis of the given wells showed minimum one promising reservoir zone at lower Goru B sands interval in Respective wells, proven Lower Goru B interval sand as verified hydrocarbon reservoir in Miano. Model based inversion has been performed to calculate the acoustic impedance which shows changes in impedance values from low to high. A correlation exists between porosity calculated from petrophysical analysis and porosity which is computed from seismic inversion which make these results reliable. en_US
