dc.description.abstract The present study is aimed at investigating the perceptions of selected working women in two educational institutions in Islamabad regarding the role of daycare facilities in their workplace and home. The research aims to determine and explore the ways in which the daycare facility has an impact on the personal and professional life of working women. In Pakistan, daycare is a relatively new concept; there is a lack of formal daycare facilities at most workplaces and even where such facilities exist, the services are inadequate. A review of literature indicated that countries with subsidies on childcare arrangements for women at workplace increased women's employment. Sadly, the Government of Pakistan has yet to introduce mandatory childcare facilities at all workplaces at subsidized rates. The first three chapters focus on the introduction, followed by a review of available literature on the subject and then spell out the research methodology. The fourth chapter discusses the results and findings of the study followed by conclusion and policy recommendations. The research also discusses the positive impacts of daycare, psychological and satisfaction levels of mothers being the major ones, and how this facilities women in maintaining a work-family life balance. It focused on the social and economic implications of daycare facilities in the lives of working women. The results indicate that daycare facilities for working mothers are a blessing and a satisfactory factor in maternal employment. en_US
