Abstract

Tourism Guide has been developed to ease the tourists in exploring Pakistan. Its main purpose is to provide a service to the smartphone users by allowing the tourists or even general public to explore various parts of the country. Pakistan has a great potential for tourism, it helps to preserve and enrich our local culture, art, handicrafts, monuments and other natural and man-made tourist resources. Its key objective is to promote tourism by providing an innovative approach to the tourist to access spatial orientation of the beautiful parts of Pakistan by utilizing the latest technologies such as 3G and 4G cellular network services to establish a tourism based culture in the society. This application assists the tourist or someone exploring Pakistan in a better way with the utilization of modern and rapid current technologies. With the use of android based mobile devices, the users will find it easier to view various destinations with detailed information on maps. Users can go through various categories to refine their searches. This application will let the tourists see pictures, talk about the atmosphere, attractions and different services about the selected region of Pakistan in as much detail as they wish. So far the anticipated requirements clarified in this thesis have been achieved in the shape of a working prototype that encompasses the desired activities successfully.
