Abstract:
The technologists in all fields, from robotics to material sciences are borrowing ideas from nature. The Swann Robotics is intently linked to the swarm intelligence and both of them are originally influenced by the behavior of social insects. The Swarm Robotics basic principles are comprised of the biological inspiration and their emphasis is on the decentralized local control and communication between large munbers of small physical robots. In the present era of research, mobile robots are observed as the major interest of a lot of researchers. In the project, our focus is on discussing and implementing the fundamental issues underlying the two main properties of multiple autonomous robots, which are, controlling them and coordination among them. We develop the solution for pattern formation of nonholonomic robots and development of the system for their transition to the new formation. Our main objective is to develop the system in which the moving robots are aligned to follow the trajectory while sustaining their formation and avoiding obstacles. In this context, we carry out obstacle detection and line following techniques. The communication network is basically developed between the master and the slave units. Instructions were given by the master unit guide the slave unit to achieve the global goal through coordination and communication. Safety of the environment is the paramount importance of the developers in all fields. According to the recent report, the swarm of robots can be used for celebration purposes instead of firework in the upcoming Olympic events. This step plays a vital role in the reduction of air pollution and entertainment purpose is also accomplished successfully. On the other hand, a group of small robots can easily divide workload instead of an individual robot, accuracy and efficiency are also enhanced.
