Abstract:
Augmented Reality (AR) is new technology that enables us to interact with the real world. Unlike Virtual Reality (VR) that creates real-life simulations and immersive interactive experiences for users, Augmented Reality AR enhances the real life settings with digital layers, and it is the integration of digital information with the user's environment in real time. It uses the existing environment and overlays new information on top of it. With the recent advancements in devices has recently become trend. Google Glass is one of the wearable which introduced in 2013; other existing systems are Microsoft Hololens and Meta 2 AR glasses which are announced in 2016. The problem with the existing AR glasses is that they are very costly and they are not easily portable and their main requirements are high end computers in order to operate them. We have designed a new AR glasses which are passed through various steps to reach as a final product. The main 3D Augmented Reality application is developed in Unity 3D software which is used as main software in our project. Hardware includes a 5 Inch LCD display which is mounted on top of the glasses and its projection can be seen on tempered glass in front of user's view. Also to interact with 3D objects in application Leapmotion Sensor is mounted in front of glasses so it can easily detect our hand gestures. Main body of glasses is made up of fiber glass. Our main goal is to provide a low cost solution for the development of Augmented Realty glasses, also to make these glasses portable. Another goal of our project is to introduce AR as one of the learning medium for the medical sciences, which can help to visualize the internal organs of the body easily.
