| dc.description.abstract | Particulate matter or Particle Pollution monitoring is the most important and critical feature of air quality control for allergy and asthma Patients. All the suspended Airborne particles in the air include a broad range of common triggers, such as mold, pet dander and dust mite allergens which are not visible through naked eye and such particles are usually less or equal to 10 micrometers in diameter and once inhaled can affect the heart and lungs and in some cases cause serious health injuries. Smart Panda uses a robust laser dust and particulate matter sensor that can differentiate between coarse and fine particles namely PM 1.0, PM 2.5 and PM 10 together providing a critical input to personalized smart alerts and controlling module for opening the smart fan and smart window in a smart room. The differentiation between particles sizes can provide feedback on what could be causing allergic reactions or asthma issues. Hence Smart Panda is a 'smart' device designed to detect indoor air quality . constituents which may act as 'triggers' for people suffering from asthma, allergies and other respiratory allergies and further is also intended for monitoring gas leakage in household safety where appliances and heaters that use natural gas may be a source of risk. Respective trained sensors detect real time values in the room and following the concept of "Internet of Things" all this data from different sensors is transmitted to a cloud based server Thing Speak where all the thresholds provided are analyzed, monitored and interpreted using graphical results. This device also notifies users on their smartphones via mail and notification alerts using "Blynk' app. In case of crossing the threshold values in either one of the case; Gas leakage and dust pollution: Controlling module will be activated and wireless smart window and fan will be opened and switched on respectively making your living a smart loT based living. This device also acts as a mosquito repeller by producing ultrasound waves through piezo-plates. Hence through this device, a real time air quality system is running and allowing for the monitoring and controlling of airborne pollutants, gas leakage, and repelling mosquitoes. | en_US |
