dc.description.abstract Off body communication in wireless body area network (WBAN) deals with different kind of interferences which degrades the reliability of packet transmission. WBAN are low power sensor nodes which are potentially influenced by the interference in coexisting wireless network. A cognitive bonded channel which provides high data rate for emergency and demanding situation is challenging. The bonded channel data rates are based on the primary user (PU) and secondary user (SU), where the primary user is user which have only one channel for communication and secondary user occupy more than one channel for high data rate transmission. Existing techniques in WBAN focus only rely on the use of single channel for data transmission and do not exploit the use of bonded channel, which can achieve high data rate, and therefore can improve WBAN capacity. In our thesis, we propose a traffic load aware bonded channel algorithm (TLABCA), which exploits channel bonding to improve the performance of off body communication, i.e., between Gateway and WBAN sink. Our proposed algorithm, i.e., TLA-BCA utilize high quality channels for channel bonding to maximize the network capacity. We compare the performance of TLA-BCA with SCA in terms of average throughput, average end-to-end delay with a comparable energy performance. en_US
