RDF Timestamp; A Plug-in for Ontology OWL

Abstract

Protege is an Ontology editor used to create and manage Ontology. As Ontology evolves over the time, there is the need of version management. Protege saves Ontology in XML and RDFs formats. There are methods available to manage Ontology versions in XML format. The research work provides a model for versioning and timestamping in OWL format. The model is also implemented as Protege plugin to manage the versions of Ontology by providing facility to update the current Ontology, compare the current Ontology with previous and next version. Plugin detects the changes and applies timestamp on each concept and creates a new version. Each version is managed individually. The plug-in also detects changes between two successive versions of the Ontology.
