dc.description.abstract In this paper, we discuss process of development of talking ATM for visually impaired people. Blindness can be classified into 3 types, Complete blindness, Night blindness, Color blindness. The main problems faced by blind people: during financial transactions especially in ATMs. In the existing ATMs, Braille is inscribed on the keypad to facilitate blind. But, what if the people dont know Braille, how to insert a card? The friend accompanying him might get to know the password or someone else can come to know of his pin number. A stranger might try to help the blind win the trust and rob him. So, we propose to design and develop a safer and secure ATM accessing system for the blind Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has become vital part of our life to perform financial transactions without intervention of human banker. ATM facilitates cash withdrawal, balance check, mini statement and fund transfer. But, these banking services using ATM cannot be directly used by some set of people of society such as people with low vision, visually impaired, illiterate as lack of accessing ATM through screens. To digitally include these set of people, talking ATMs are evolved. Talking ATM provides accessibility to ATM services by providing audio component. Many ATMs employ headphone jack that facilitates user to do transaction with security. The audio information is generated through speech synthesis engine. The paper summarizes how ATM works, need, proposed solution of talking ATM for visually impaired users, development talking ATM using concatenated Text to Speech. We basically focus on automated teller machine accessibility for the visually impaired and blind people. It also helpful for the people that are not blind as well because automated teller machine is helpful for the people to easily transact the amount without time delay. Currently automated teller machine doesnt friendly for the visually impaired and blind people due to security issues. Our main concern is to facilitate blind people. en_US
