dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the study was to evaluate the relationship of noise pollution with quality of life and stress levels of employees working in a noise polluted factory. Noise is referred to any sound in the environment that is particularly unpleasant and causes discomfort. A survey was conducted on eighty-three male employees working in International Textile Industry. The noise levels of the factory were measured using a noise meter. To assess the stress levels and quality of of two questionnaires were used i.e. Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and World The results of the study life, Urdu version Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHO-QOL BREF). revealed that there was no relationship between noise and stress, however weak negative correlation was found between noise and quality of life. The study concluded that the high levels of noise affect the quality of life of the workers, significantly physical quality of life. However, it does not have any impact on the stress level of employees working in textile industry. | en_US |
