dc.description.abstract The present research aimed to investigate the level of depression among first year and third year medical students. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant difference in level of depression among the lsl and 3rd year male and female medical students. The sample of this study consists of 241 undergraduate medical students from different private medical colleges in Karachi who were selected through purposive sampling. To measure the variables the CES-D (Center for Epidemiologic Studies- Depression Scale) was used. For statistical analysis, SPSS was used. The t test was applied to determine the difference. Results show that both the variables have no significant difference in depression levels. The first hypothesis has a difference of 0.113and the second hypothesis has a significance of 0.263. en_US
