dc.description.abstract Gambat Block geographically is located about 42 Kms south west of Sawan Gas field. Sands of Lower Goru formation is the proven reservoir of the area form which nearby Gas fields Miano, Kadanwari and Sawan have been producing high quality gas. The chief objective of this research is to find and locate such prospect bearing zone in the sands of Lower Goru in Gambat area. This research was carried out to the interpretation and application of seismic attributes on SEG Y data in order to locate prospect. Rock physics technique is applied to estimate the shear wave velocity and elastic parameters, which are then integrated with petro physical properties to separate the reservoir and non-reservoir zones. Integration of these data sets helps to locate the presence of prospect lies within Lower Cretaceous sands of Lower Goru Formation. Seismic structural interpretation along with seismic attribute analysis yields signinificant prospect presence, but their reservoir quality risk has also been identified while moving from east to west as seismic amplitude anomaly dims out. Trapping mechanism found to be dip towards west, as all major faults oriented NNE-SSW. Horst and graben structures were marked on seismic data along with probable Stratigraphic trap which contain the gas bearing sand is confirmed by rock physics and petrophysical analysis is then nominated as probable prospect lies in study area. en_US
