dc.description.abstract | In the world of 21st century life has become fast and people have different priorities, needs and demands to maintain their fast life. In our country, the simple household chores are preferred to be done by a maid. Maids are often unreliable, not punctual and a risky person to trust regarding houses or places. Getting the idea, we have thought of starting a change here in our country by developing SmartRobots that can help being a generic robot which can be used for variety of purposes like cleaning, washing, delivering etc. In our project, we have focused on using a Vacuum cleaner as a prototype and that will navigate autonomously according to the proposed path and clean. An Overheaded Camera is being used to control the robot which is the only sensor involved in this project. We are using image processing algorithms to navigate the robot so that it covers the area of the room efficiently, requiring less time by the given path and avoid obstacles as well as detecting the edges. The movement of the robot is controlled with the help of ROS (Robot Operating System) which is integrated with the MATLAB. We have primarily focused on a precise and accurate navigation of our cleaner-bot using only one sensor which will work as an obstacle detector by indicating our Cleaner-Bot when to move away from a pathway- obstacle. The video streamed from the sensor is yet not only used to give commands but also provide the live footage to the customers on their Apps installed in their smart phones. While all the rest vacuum cleaner has been programed to work according to advanced technology through which this cleaner-bot will cover up almost all the areas of a given room. | en_US |
