Abstract:
This research focuses on The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) that helps the organizations in managing the day to day activities of employees; it is helpful in keeping a track of employees, in terms of their perfonuance and enables organizations to effectively review the performance of each individual at the time of appraisals and also the accurate and timely feedback can help in correct and accurate evaluation of employees, this is an important aspect as it helps in marinating the workforce, as the process of appraisals is a critical one, the employee, if satisfied with the feedback will tend to stay for a longer period of time with the organization which is ultimately beneficial for the organization which is directly related in retaining the valuable employees. All this could be possible due to HRIS. A number of HRIS are available in the market, This thesis focuses on general fimctionality of latest HRlS without taking into account any specific vendor. The results of study showed that HRIS is highly significant and becoming vital for medium to larger enterprises. Data was collected from 150 workers related to IT, HR, Finance and technology department of different companies within vicinity of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. These results were then run of SPSS to find regression, correlation, p and F values. The values showed that result were highly significant. HRIS helps in communicating the goals and objectives to the personnel not only to the individual level but also to the overall goals of the organization by setting performance standards and allows an ease to the supervisors in monitoring and at the end helps in the evaluation process as well. The study stresses importance of HRlS in the organizations to maintain ever increasing amount of data. Not only this HRIS could also be used in forecasting and predicting future needs of human resource by integrating different modules in the software. As the evaluations are carried out, the employees' who put in great efforts in achieving their goals and contributes towards the attainment of organizational goals are rewarded as per their performances, the others who don't are provided with the feedback and is given future course of action as well to improve their performance, the rewards can be monetary as well as non-monetary, in case of non-performance, employees are penalized are wen. If the human resource information system (HRIS) is implemented in a right way it contributes a lot towards employee retention and performance management and it bears positive results for the organization.
