dc.description.abstract The purpose of the study was to explore the relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement among adolescence students and also gender difference across these variables. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant relationship between self esteem and academic achievement. It was also hypothesized that there would be a significant gender difference across self-esteem and academic achievement among adolescence students. Sample of 243 adolescence students (93 males and 150 females) were selected through convenience sampling. The age range of the participants was 13-18 years. Self-esteem of the students were assessed by Rosenberg self-esteem scale (1965) and their academic achievement was measured by students’ recent sendup academic grades/results. SPSS 21 version were used for data analysis. Pearson correlation was used to explore the significant relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement, whereas, independent t-test was used to check gender difference across these variables. The results showed that no significant relationship found between self-esteem and academic achievement (r= 0.049) and also no significant gender difference across self-esteem (P= 0.865) and academic achievement (P= 0.285). en_US
