dc.description.abstract | The research aimed lo explore the relationship between mindful eating and obesity. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant relationship between mindful eating and obesity. A total sample of 195 participants falling between the age ranges of 18 to 35 years was recruited through an online survey form and in-person from Bahria University, Karachi Campus. The two measures that were used in the study included Body Mass Index, and Mindful Eating Questionnaire by Framson et. al, (2009). For the statistical analysis of the data, Pearson correlation was calculated and the results obtained were found to be non-significant (P = 0.244) which explained that there is no relationship between mindful eating and obesity. However, an increase in mindful eating levels was observed in female and unemployed participants. Moreover, unemployed participants were seen to have lower BMI as compared to employed participants. To conclude, further researches are suggested to be carried out on mindful eating and obesity in Pakistan as there is a lot to be explored in our culture. | en_US |
