dc.description.abstract The aim of the present study was to assess the correlation between work stress and job satisfaction. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant relationship between work stress and job satisfaction in university teachers. To investigate this, total number of N=100teachers participated in the study. The age ranges of teachers were between 25 to 65 years. Participants were selected from different departments of two private universities through convenient sampling method. In order to measure the correlation between work stress and job satisfaction, Psychological Work Stress Questionnaire (Zadeh & Ahmad, 2008) and Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) (Spector, 1994) and consent form were used. The results were generated by using Pearson correlation in the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) indicates that there is a weak negative correlation (r = -.320) between work stress and job satisfaction. So the findings of the study reveal that weak negative relationship was seen between variables that proved the hypothesis. On the outlook of the present study, it is recommended that the further studies shall be conducted on a larger sample drawn from the target population and a more diversified sample, in order to increase its generalizability en_US
