dc.description.abstract The current study attempts to investigate the relationship between extraversion and attachment styles. The hypotheses tested in this study were: (a) extraversion would have a significant negative correlation with attachment related avoidance, and (b) there would be no significant correlation between extraversion and attachment related anxiety. Extraversion was measured using items from the HEXACO-PI-R and the Experiences in Close Relationships — Revised Questionnaire (ECR-R) was used to measure attachment related avoidance and attachment related anxiety from a sample (n=55) of university students aged between 18 and 24 years. The results of Pearson Product Moment Correlation indicated that extraversion is negatively correlated with both attachment related avoidance and attachment related anxiety, which is in agreement with similar research done in the past. en_US
