Abstract:
In existing competitive business environment, proper implementation and understanding of supply chain has become an important and vital factor for the success of any organization. Particularly, many things need to be improved with respect to supply chain management practices in order to survive and generate profits in Pakistan’s competitive market situation. In view of the equivalent, the present study aims to find out the impact of SCM practices (Strategic Supplier Partnership, Information Sharing and Customer Relationship) on the Organizational performance in the food processing firms of Pakistan. Primary data was collected with the aid of questionnaires from 120 employees and managers of food processing firms in the cities of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Lahore. The Primary data collected from the respondents was analyzed and interpreted using SPSS. The overall results suggest that supply chain management practices are well inculcated among the respondents. Moreover, the main hypotheses of the present study which suggest that strategic supplier partnership, customer relationship, and level of information sharing positively affects the firm performance. The results of our research reveal that the food processing firms in Pakistan are well acquainted with the concept of supply chain, however there still exist a gap between theory and practice that needs to be bridged. Based upon the findings of the present study, the present study has identified the future research options along with the limitations that need to be addressed by future researchers. Finally, specific recommendations are identified to bridge the gap between theory and practice to improve the overall supply chain practices in Pakistan’s business landscape.
