Abstract:
This research study examined the impact of cyberbullying perpetration and victimization on the
life satisfaction and self-esteem of university students, it also examined the three venues of
perpetration and victimization; text, email and online and the differences of gender with respect to
perpetration and victimization through these three venues. The upgrading in internet and
communication technologies is making it easier for the bullies to use this platform and spread
rumors and false statements of others to many other people and also blackmailing and leaving the
victim defenseless. The research is conducted to determine if cyberbullying perpetration through
text, email and online and victimization through text, email and online have a negative impact on
life satisfaction and self-esteem of university students and to check if there exist different
experiences of gender w.r.t cyberbullying perpetration through text, email and online and cyber
bullying victimization through text, email and online.
A total of 399 university students participated in the survey created through google form
questionnaires. The research adopted the quantitative method, as questionnaires were distributed
among different university students.
The result of the current study showed that cyber bullying victimization through text is negatively
related with self-esteem and there exists differences between different genders w.r.t perpetration
through text, email and online and slightest difference between victimization through emails.
