Abstract:
Purpose- The main purpose of this research study was to determine the factors that
directly affect the employee’s job satisfaction in banking sector of Pakistan and scope
restricted to all banks operating in Karachi. There were five factors which were tested to
evaluate the level of job satisfaction of the employee’s working in the banks. The main
focus of this research was to check the impact of “Work Environment” “Work Load”,
“Leadership Behaviour”, “Autonomy”, and “Job Security” on employee’s job
satisfaction.
Methodology/Sample-for this research data was gathered through detailed
questionnaires from different banks based in Karachi. Total 383 questionnaires were
distributed to different bankers in Karachi. Out of 383 questionnaire, only 302 were
respondent completely. Data were tested on SPSS after transformation and used Linear
Regression Analysis, ANOVA and reliability test for acceptance and rejection of
hypothesis.
Findings- The findings clearly reflects the significant impact of “Work Environment”,
“Leadership Behaviour “and “Job Security “on employee’s job satisfaction. There were
positive impact of Work environment, leadership behaviour, and job security on job
employee’s job security, whereas no impact or significant impact of word load and
autonomy have seen on employee’s job satisfaction.
Practical implications-ln the view of outcomes, the accompanying conclusions can be
drawn from this research; there was a positive relationship between these variables except
work load. There was no significant impact of work load found on job satisfaction. The
reason behind this impact is the similar nature of workload in all banking sector in Pakistan.
