Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of the research is to examine the relationship of employee understaffmg
on the employees work life balance in an organizations from MCB bank limited in Karachi. In
this study we will study the factors of understaffmg that affect the outcomes of something
decisively. In this, we also derive a prediction regarding the relation between the understaffmg
in an organization to ‘work interference with personal life’, ‘personal life interference with
work life’ and ‘work and personal life enhancement’, which tell organizations about the
importance of work life balance policies, its strong impact of work life balance on
organization’s employees performance and its overall performance.
Methodology: This research is quantitative in nature and the questionnaire is used to collect
data by distributing it to respondents. The respondents belonged to MCB bank limited,
different residential areas, and different age group in Karachi. And data is gathered from the
employees of MCB bank within the metropolitan city Karachi. The respondents for this
research are 132. After collection of data in the shape of questionnaire, then the data is
analyzed with the help of SPSS linear regression.
Findings of the research: Finding of the research is that there is a significant relationship
between understaffmg and work life balance.
Practical implications: The study is very helpful for the banking sectors in Pakistan to
understand the importance of work life balance policies for the employees and indirectly for
the overall organization performance as well as the negative affect of understaffmg on the
employees of an organization and the overall performance of organization. This study will also
be useful for the researchers researching about work life balance as well as negative impact of
staff shortages in the banking sector of Pakistan. Banks itself use this research for more
accurate results with the broader perspective.
