Abstract:
Purpose:
The aim of this research is to measure the impact of employee training and development
offered by organizations on motivation of employees. This research aims to examine the
fact whether training and development of employees help them maintaining positive
motivation level in Engro Corporation.
Methodology/sample:
Adopting deductive approach, hypotheses were first developed after studying relevant
literature. The data was gathered from 206 employees who were chosen across the
organization covering the diversified levels to get better conclusion. The data collected
was analyzed by applying recommended statistical tools including Regression and
Pearson’s Correlation in SPSS, version 23 and all the seven hypotheses were accordingly
tested to derive results for the hypothesis.
Findings:
The study and analysis of the data gathered has revealed that there Training Need
Assessment, Trainee Feedback and Training Evaluation have significant impact on
Employee Motivation at Engro. The company needs to focus on these parameters to
improve the employee motivation. Also, Engro need to develop a dedicated Training &
Development facility having primary focus on the identified areas to improve Employee
Motivation.
Practical Implications: Companies like Engro Corporation spend significant amount money on the training and
development of the employees and this research will help them to assess how it is helping
the employees in their career progression. This will also help them to work on how and
where to indulge new employees so that they can prepare them to lead through
progression. Organizations like Engro can benefit from the research by using it as
prototype for future study on same or similar topic.
