dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of psychological empowerment in the relationship of psychological capital (PsyCap) and organizational commitment. Data was collected from the 200 sample of teaching staff of higher education institutes in Pakistan through convenient based non- probability sampling technique. The mediating effect of psychological empowerment on the relationship between psychological capital and organizational commitment was tested according to Baron and Kenny’s (1986) instructions. Results have proved that Psychological empowerment mediates the relationship between Psychological capital and organizational Commitment. Results recommend that organizations should focus on ways to improve psychological capital of their employees as it should increase their perceived empowerment, which in turn, will increase their organizational commitment. This study represents the first comprehensive attempt to examine the mediating role of psychological empowerment in the relationship between psychological capital and organizational commitment. There is hardly any study in Pakistan that tried to test the relationship between psychological capital, psychological empowerment and organizational commitment | en_US |
