Abstract:
Purpose:
The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of learning environment on the soft
skills development of the students at BUKC. The study identify the factors of learning
environment that impact the development of soft skills of students included independent
variables such as inspirational culture, safe space, events and co-curricular activities, teaching
style of instructor and role of technology and their impact on the development of soft skils.
Certain soft skills are also described briefly which helps students to succeed in corporate world
and increases job opportunities.
Methodology/sample:
The research, being explanatory in nature, involved quantitative data collected through a
questionnaire. The data were collect from a sample of 254 students of BBA, MBA, BSSE and
BSCS of BUKC.This sample of 254 participants were selected using convenience sampling
technique. SPSS tool was used to analyse the data through application of regression analysis and
Pearson Correlation.
Findings:
The result revealed that there is a strong and significant impact of teaching style of instructor and
role of technology on the development of soft skills of students at BUKC. However, the results
do not show any significant impact of inspirational culture, safe space and events and co-
curricular activities on the development of soft skills of students at BUKC.
Practical Implications:
The findings/results of this research are likely to help the management of BUKC to improve their
effectiveness and find ways to motivate students in order to enhance their soft skills.
Inspirational culture, safe space and events and co-curricular activities in learning institution can
helps to develop and enhance the soft skills of students. Other learning institution may also
benefit from this study.
