Abstract:
Purpose:
The aim of the research is to determine the Affect of DevOps based product development &
delivery process on Software Release Performance in Pakistan’s software industry. Research
define the correlation of Software Release Performance with the level of DevOps techniques
utilized by the companies to develop new products as well as extensions of existing products.
Also, research focus on how DevOps as an operational excellence practice is a strategic edge
for software companies.
Methodology/sample:
The research being explanatory in nature as several researches done in this topic. It involved
qualitative & quantitative data, and sample size is 367. In this study, primary data is used and
the questionnaire instrument was adopted. Regression and correlation test were performed to
identify the Affect of DevOps adoption on Software Release Performance.
Findings:
The results supported the empirical evidence of positive and direct Affect on Software
Release Performance. Our study highlighted how DevOps as Service Infrastructure act as
multiplier for Software Release Performance. The results of the study showed that DevOps
adoption suited with Service Infrastructure tools help organizations to timely & effectively to
deliver the software with least amount of overhead induction.
Our study results are aligning with other international researches conducted in developing
countries. ( Nikola Vlahovic, 2016; Theresa Yang, 2007 ;). These studies also concluded
that DevOps practices helps rapid production of software & meet the ever changing customer
requirements and Agile practices results in greater learning & greater teamwork.
Practical Implications:
The findings/results of this research will help management to transform to agility &
implement the DevOps infrastructure on top of organizational agility. Study also helps
management to know the extent of individual DevOps sub-system on overall Software Release Performance & how DevOps as a Service infrastructure can boost the customer value
delivery process
