dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of the study is to evaluate hydrocarbon potential of Sinjhoro area that lies in Sindh monocline, Southern Indus basin for delineation of potential leads for future prospects. This is based on the seismic and well data respectively. The seismic data is utilized for the identification of structural trap, marking the different horizons. The seismic interpretation results as been proved by two-way time contour maps and depth contour maps separated by the four major faults. Massive Sands of Lower Goru Formation (Cretaceous) is the primary reservoir in this area. Two zones are marked in this region having the average saturation of hydrocarbon 62% and 64% respectively. , Porosities calculations are also done by applying the Gardner's Equation on the seismic velocities. Average porosities for Massive Sands are around 13% in the prospect area. | en_US |
