dc.description.abstract One of the problem of medical domain which is of paramount importance is the detection of anomalies related to blood cells. The Red Blood Cell (RBC) count is a sub domain of this problem. Commonly employed methods rely on using Hemotcytometer and automated analyser for this purpose. An automated quantifier for RBC from digitized blood smear images is presented in this study using a modied approach which uses Circular Hough Transform for the detection of the RBCs. The detection algorithm has been applied effectively on a dataset of Giesma-Stain blood smear images. en_US
