Abstract:
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of Dhodhak area, Middle Indus Basin, Pakistan. The major structure present in the area is the Sufaidkoh anticlinolium. A structure marked in the study area is the thrust fault bounded by anticline. The targeted formations are Pab Sandstone of Cretaceous age and Lower Ranikot Formation of Paleocene age. Time and depth contour maps of these formations are generated which also confirms the fault bounded four ways dipping structure delineated through seismic data. Hydrocarbon potential of Pab Sandstone and Lower Ranikot Formation in Dhodhak-01 well was evaluated by executing petrophysical analysis which showed average of 70% hydrocarbon saturation.
