| dc.description.abstract | Thesis contains the interpretation by using selected seismic lines and well data of Turkwal deep-01 situated in Fimkassar area in Punjab Province, upper Indus Basin, Pakistan. For seismic interpretation horizons were marked with identification of faults. Horizons were identified as top of Chorgali Formation and Sakessar Limestone. Contour maps of time and depth were generated giving a prominent aspect of subsurface structure and layout of area of study, we encountered duplex structure which was delineated in sections and proved with the help of time and depth contour maps. Gamma ray, resistivity, sonic and SP logs were used on Turkwal deep-01 to label the hydrocarbon bearing zone. The parameters used for Petrophysical analysis are shale volume, volume of clean, average porosity, effective porosity, water saturation and hydrocarbon saturation. For Chorgali Formation average saturation of water is 66.54% and average saturation of hydrocarbon is 33.6% while for Sakesar Formation average saturation of water is 78.36% and average saturation of hydrocarbon is 21.64%. The zone of interest was marked in Chorgali Formation as well as in Sakesar Formation which are a proven reservoir rocks in other localities. However, the well was abandoned as the percentage of hydrocarbons is less than 50% in both Formations which suggested that both Formations cannot be considered as potential reservoir rocks for the accumulation of hydrocarbon. | en_US |
