Abstract:
Climate change is one of the most serious problems being faced in the twenty first century. CPEC is merely focusing on economic development and neglecting the environmental consequences. Economic development could only be beneficial if the developmental policies are sustainable. CPEC might affect the physical and biological environment of Pakistan. CPEC might affect the socio-economic activities of the locals. Therefore, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) should be conducted in time.
