| dc.description.abstract | E-government is the installment and employment of the internet and World Wide Web for the efficient delivery of government services and information to the citizens. It has become an important milestone in the globalized world and one of the prerequisites of good governance. The establishment of e-government requires long term, organization wide strategy to constantly improve the quality and efficiency of its public services. In this growing world of advanced ICTs, where a lot of developed countries are facing issues, Pakistan is also a growing child and hence is more vulnerable to the upcoming challenges of e-governance. Challenges like coping up with new technology, managing changes in existing systems and meeting public expectations are considered amongst the most prevalent issues towards the adoption of e-governance. A research has been conducted to carry a comparative study of two institutes, highlighting the push and pull factors towards the employment of e-governance. This study is an attempt to understand the social, political and technical factors in both, Nadra and Pakistan Railways that have played their respective roles in adopting means to achieve good governance under the umbrella of technology. | en_US |
