"IMPACT OF OPERATIONS PLANNING ON SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE IN TEXTILE INDUSTRY"

Abstract

Purpose- The core objective of this research is to evaluate some of key factors of operations planning influencing supply chain performance in context of Pakistan Textile sector only. Methodology/sample- Research is explanatory based on quantitative data. The research has a huge population therefore under non-probabilistic sampling it uses convenience sampling in order to access the participants easily. The strategy for research is cover as much as textile industry but top 50 leading organization of the industry were chosen. Findings- Supply Chain Coordination and Cross-Function Integration were found out to be important factors whereas Use of IT Tools (Electronic Data Interchange) comparable less significant importance to increase the performance of supply chain. Practical Implications- Pakistan Textile sector has mostly export oriented and vast supply chain functions and business partners. If there is lack of coordination, integration and no exchange of information timely then it will eventually result in losing the quality standard, short shipments and high cost of quality product, due to which delivery problems might occur which would lead to the financial problems for the business
