THE IMPACT OF MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF BANKING INDUSTRY OF PAKISTAN

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research mainly was to identify the impact of mergers and acquisitions on the performance of the banking industry of Pakistan it has highlighted the areas over which it could be measured that these mergers have a positive impact or negative. Methodology: The methodology which is used to analyze the impact of the study is the linear regression model which was conducted through e-views and it provided with the results. The annual reports of banks are used to analyze data for the study and acquire empirical results. Findings: The findings of this study was based upon the areas of return of assets and return on equit-y-which-were-impaeted by the independent variables which were liquidity, solvency-and capital adequacy.
