dc.description.abstract | This study was aimed to investigate the role of perceived social support, coping strategies and life satisfaction among burn survivors. Sample comprised of 200 burn survivors with the age range of 15-70 years (M = 29.84 & SD = 10.96). Sample was collected from different burns units of Rawalpindi-Islamabad. Convenient sampling was used to collect the data. Three scales were used including; Multi-dimensional Scale to assess Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) Urdu Version, Coping with Burns Questionnaire (CBQ-self adapted Urdu version) to assess coping strategies, and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) Urdu Version to check the levels of life satisfaction among burn survivors. Results demonstrate that there is a positive relationship between perceived social support, and life satisfaction among burn survivors (r = .71, p < 0.01). Moreover, a positive relationship between coping strategies i.e., problem focused coping (r= .47, p<0.01), adjustment coping (r= .30, p<0.01), instrumental action (r= .20, p<0.01) with life satisfaction among burn survivors was also found. Limitations and recommendations are also discussed. | en_US |
